frequently asked questions

how do i book an appointment?

-if my books are open, fill out a form so i can have all of your info in one place, and send any reference images to lparkerpinkgoblin@gmail.com. make sure to include your name in the subject of your email so i know whose images they are! i prefer to do most of my consultations via email, so expect an email response within a week or two of submitting your request. from there, i'll send you a time/price estimate for the piece and any questions i have about your design to make sure that we're on the same page. in order to book an appointment i do require a nonrefundable deposit to be paid at the time of booking, which can be taken care of here by purchasing an online gift card for the deposit amount. after that, you should receive a text to the phone number on file with your appointment details, as well as a reminder text 48 hours before your appointment. **PLEASE REACH OUT IF YOU DO NOT RECEIVE THESE TEXTS SO WE CAN CORRECT YOUR PHONE NUMBER IN THE SYSTEM**

how much will my tattoo cost?

-i price all tattoos by the hour, not by the piece, so the final cost of the piece will be directly proportionate to how long it takes to complete the tattoo. my current hourly rate is $170 per hour so a 2-hour piece would be $340, a 4-hour piece would be $680, etc. though i do my best to give accurate estimates over email, it's impossible to predict exactly how long a tattoo will take, so the final price may vary based on how much time was actually spent working during the session. if you are on a tight budget, no worries! we can usually break bigger pieces up into smaller sessions and space sessions out as far as needed, just let me know!

what about the deposit??

-as mentioned above, a nonrefundable deposit is required to book an appointment. once i place your appointment on the books, i'll send you a big ol email with all the info you need: your appointment time/date, how much the deposit will be (i charge $50/hr as a deposit, so the deposit for a 2-hour tattoo would be $100, $200 for a 4-hour tattoo, etc), where to purchase the gift card on the pink goblin website, and the full cancellation policy. your deposit will be held in the system until we checkout after the tattoo, at which point i'll punch in your gift card number in order to apply it to your transaction. the value of the gift card does come off the final cost of your tattoo, so if i quote your tattoo at $300, $100 of that would be the deposit and then the remaining $200 would be due at checkout. and no worries about bringing exact cash, we also take card as well as mobile payment.

can i see the drawing ahead of time?

-i do not send out drawings ahead of time except for in very rare situations. there are multiple reasons for this, but the biggest one is that there is waaaayyy more room for miscommunication over email as opposed to in person. additionally, sometimes certain design choices don't look right on a flat computer screen that make perfect sense when we have the design printed out, roughly sized, and held up to your arm/leg/earlobe for you to take a look at in the mirror. though i prefer to make any changes in person at the time of the appointment, i do want to make sure you walk out of the studio with a tattoo you absolutely love, so please let me know about any changes you'd like to make to the design when you come in, it is never a bother for me to tweak or rework a design into something you love. i draw everything on a tablet, so resizing/moving certain elements, mirroring the design, resizing the entire design, or changing anything about text in a tattoo takes a matter of minutes of not seconds. if upon seeing the design there are major changes you'd like made, that's also no problem. as long as we aren't shifting to an entirely different tattoo (deciding you'd like to get a full octopus back piece instead of a lil frog on your arm) i will either redraw the design on the spot (if time allows) or we can reschedule your appointment if it's not something i would be able to redraw and tattoo withtin your allotted appointment time. if this is the case, you will keep your deposit and we can get a new date booked while you are in the studio. please do not hesitate to bring up any design concerns no matter how big, i would rather you get a tattoo you love next week than a tattoo you don't like today!

what should i do to prepare for my appointment?

-48 hours before your appointment, you should receive a text message and email asking you to confirm your appointment as well as prompting you to fill out an online consent form. get that filled out ahead of time if at all possible, though the studio wifi tries her best she does tend to disappear when there's forms to submit and files to print. aside from that, it's always a good idea to get a good night's rest, stay hydrated, and make sure to have a meal a couple hours before you come in. also make sure to bring your photo ID with you to your appointment, i can't tattoo you without it!

what will happen the day of my appointment?

-upon walking in to the studio, get checked in at the front desk, and then have a seat in our waiting area. i'll get your design printed up roughly to scale for you to take a look at, we'll make any design changes, determine the exact size of the piece, and then i will make a stencil of the design and finish setting up everything at my station. once everything's ready, i'll call you back to prep the area being tattooed and get the stencil on. at this point, depending on the size/design/how wet the stencil is, we may take 10-15 minutes to let the stencil dry, which is a great time to use the restroom, grab some water, or much on a snack if you have one with you. after that, we get to the best part...tattoodling! i don't tend to take a lot of breaks, so don't hesitate to ask at any point if you need a break to stand up/stretch/get some water/use the restroom/take a phone call, quite literally anything. once we finish up, i'll let you take a look at your new piece in the mirror and then we'll get some good pictures of it. after that, we'll get your piece all wrapped up, go over aftercare, and check you out up front. after your appointment, feel free to email me if you have any questions about aftercare or to schedule a touch up, the first one's free for up to a year!

can i bring a friend/partner/relative with me to my appointment?

-though our new space is bigger, the waiting area is still relatively small, so to avoid overcrowding we ask clients to please not bring any +1's to their appointment.
